Morning Hit-and-Run Crash on Reina Street in Bakersfield Leaves the Pedestrian Dead

 
BAKERSFIED, CA (September 8, 2021) – A pedestrian was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Reina Street and Sand Bay Way in Bakersfield.
 
The fatal crash happened around 7:17 a.m. on Wednesday, September 8. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was walking at the intersection when a vehicle struck them. After the crash, the involved driver did not stop to render aid.
 
Responding paramedics attempted saving the pedestrian, but the victim died at the scene.
 
CHP’s initial reports indicated that the father of the suspect was on scene. He told officers that his daughter will be returning to the crash site.
 
No identifying information is available at this time. This fatality is under investigation.
