Hit-and-Run Accident on Brundage Lane in Bakersfield Leaves Pedestrian Dead
BAKERSFIELD, CA (February 12, 2021) – A pedestrian died Friday after a hit-and-run accident on Brundage Lane in Bakersfield.
The fatal hit-and-run accident happened around 9:48 p.m. in the 100 block of Brundage Lane near V Street.
According to the Bakersfield Police Department, the male pedestrian was crossing the street when a car struck him. The involved driver fled scene before authorities arrived.
Responding paramedics found the pedestrian lying in the roadway with major injuries. They rushed him to Kern Medical Center, where the victim later died.
Detectives described the suspect’s vehicle as a white Dodge SUV, possibly a Journey, with front-end damage. They will look for any surveillance cameras that may have captured the vehicle leaving the scene.
Authorities urged witnesses to come forward and call the police department at 661-327-7111.
