Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Hit-and-Run Car on Highway 184 in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (April 20, 2023) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a hit-and-run driver on Highway 184 near Blackburn Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 8:11 p.m. Thursday. For unknown reasons, a driver of a possible white Nissan sedan left the scene after hitting a pedestrian walking westbound across the northbound lanes of the highway.
 
Shortly after, paramedics responded to the scene. However, the 35-year-old male pedestrian died shortly after.
 
Authorities do not know if impairment played a role, but if anyone has seen this crash and can help the CHP, please call 661-396-6600.
