Pedestrian Fatally Hit by Car on Highway 101 in San Francisco

 
SAN FRANCISCO, CA (April 12, 2024) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on Highway 101 near San Bruno Avenue.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 10:12 p.m. Monday. For an unknown reason, a pedestrian decided to walk in an easterly direction in the southbound lanes of the highway. Subsequently, a southbound white Hyundai Sonata struck the male pedestrian.
 
Immediately after, the driver stayed at the scene and called 911. Upon responding, paramedics found the victim, but he died at the scene. Further details about his name and residence were unavailable.
 
Due to the crash, commuters faced a two-hour closure of the No. 1, 2 and 3 southbound lanes.
