Pedestrian Struck, Killed by Vehicle on 5 Freeway in Bay Park

 
BAY PARK, CA (July 11, 2022) — A pedestrian was hit and killed by a car on the 5 Freeway near Sea World Drive.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 2:00 a.m. on Friday. Under unclear circumstances, a driver in a northbound Hyundai sedan struck a man north of Sea World Drive.
 
Shortly after, emergency personnel responded to the scene and confirmed the man deceased on arrival. Authorities had to close several lanes until 4:30 a.m. due to the investigation.
 
At this time, officers have not confirmed the ultimate cause of the accident. However, investigators will determine the precise circumstances and liabilities.
