Pedestrian Killed in 4th Street Accident in Long Beach
LONG BEACH, CA (May 3, 2024) — A pedestrian died days after an accident at 4th Street and Atlantic Avenue.
According to the Long Beach Police Department the pedestrian crash happened around 6:25 p.m. on April 22. Under unclear circumstances, a driver of a 2002 Lexus SUV turned left onto Atlantic Avenue from East 4th Street. Subsequently, the Lexus struck a pedestrian on the road.
Moments later, Long Beach Fire Department paramedics responded and transported the victim to a hospital where he died on April 24. Authorities have not released his name at this time.
Following the incident, traffic investigators ruled out speed and distracted driving as factors playing in the accident. However, authorities will look into this crash more closely.
