Christopher Aunchman Arrested after DUI Hit-and-Run Accident on 4th Street near Nicholas Road

 
BEAUMONT, CA (March 17, 2022) – A pedestrian sustained serious injuries following a hit-and-run collision on 4th Street on Thursday evening, March 10.
 
According to the Beaumont Police Department, the incident happened at about 8:00 p.m. Due to unknown circumstances, a vehicle hit the pedestrian near the intersection of 4th Street and Nicholas Road.
 
Emergency crews then rushed the victim to a local hospital for treatment of major injuries. As per reports, the victim remains in critical condition.
 
The driver, identified as 42-year-old Christopher Lawrence Aunchman of Banning, fled the scene. However, officers later located Aunchman a few blocks from the scene of the accident.
 
Officers arrested Aunchman on suspicion of felony hit-and-run causing injury/death, felony driving under the influence and causing bodily injury, and felony DUI with injury. Aunchman is being held at Larry D. Smith Correctional Facility without bail.
 
Beaumont police continue to investigate the accident.
