Paul Thomas Hospitalized, Arrested After Stolen Vehicle Crashes During Police Pursuit on 15 Freeway near Palmdale Road

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (March 24, 2023) — Paul Thomas was injured and arrested after the stolen car he was driving crashed during a police chase on the 15 Freeway near Palmdale Road.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened around 3:07 p.m. Tuesday. Deputies located a stolen Jeep at a gas station in the 15000 block of Palmdale Road. As officers tried to contact the driver, 55-year-old Paul Thomas, of San Bernardino, refused to comply. He then re-entered the stolen vehicle and struck a sheriff’s vehicle before driving eastbound on Palmdale Road.
 
Thomas hopped onto the southbound on-ramp to the 15 Freeway but crashed the Jeep, causing it to roll over multiple lanes. Responding paramedics found him pinned underneath the vehicle and brought him to a nearby trauma center for treatment of critical injuries.
 
Authorities learned that Thomas was partially ejected upon impact.
