Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Car in Union City

 
UNION CITY, CA (February 12, 2023) – Paul Moreno who was hospitalized in a bicycle accident last month in Union City has died.
 
The fatal accident happened on January 31, in the area of Central Avenue and Atlantic Street. According to the Union City Police Department, Moreno was riding his bicycle when he was struck by a car.
 
Paramedics rushed Moreno to a hospital, where he died Wednesday on February 8.
 
The victim was a 69-year-old Hayward resident.
 
The driver stayed on scene and cooperated with law enforcement.
 
UCPD’s Traffic Unit is still investigating the crash. They asked anyone with further information to contact Traffic Officer Silva at 510-675-5222.
