Car Accident on Highway 118 in Somis Kills 38-Year-Old Woman

 
SOMIS, CA (February 27, 2024) – A passenger was killed in a car accident on Highway 118 in Somis Sunday morning on February 25.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 10:00 a.m. near the intersection with Aggen Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a car left the highway for unknown reasons and struck a utility pole.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the passenger of the car to Ventura County Medical Center, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
Authorities only described the victim as a 38-year-old Oxnard woman.
 
The condition of the driver was not immediately available.
 
There was no evidence that alcohol or other substances were involved. No arrests had been made.
 
Further investigation is underway.
