One Killed, Two Critical in Fiery Accident on 15 Freeway near Stoddard Wells Road [Victorville, CA]

Fiery Crash on 15 Freeway in Victorville Kills 1 and Critically Injures 2

 
VICTORVILLE, CA (April 6, 2024) – One person died and two other people were critical after a fiery accident on 15 Freeway in Victorville Friday evening on April 5.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:53 p.m. near Stoddard Wells Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, a pickup truck was traveling northbound on the freeway when it struck the bridge and overturned. It then burst into flames.
 
Both CHP officers and San Bernardino County Sheriff’s deputies responded, and located the vehicle fully engulfed in flames.
 
A male occupant was partially ejected from the vehicle and died at the scene.
 
Firefighters also found at least two more critically injured patients inside the vehicle.
 
Two helicopters were requested to land at nearby hospitals to transport the victims to out-of-area trauma centers.
 
The cause of the crash is still under investigation. However, there had been reports of the pickup truck displaying pre-crash erratic behavior.
