Early Morning Crash on San Diego Freeway in Mission Viejo Ends in Fatality

 
MISSION VIEJO, CA (November 6, 2022) – One person was killed in a traffic accident on San Diego (5) Freeway in Mission Viejo early Saturday morning, November 5.
 
The accident happened around 3:40 a.m. on the southbound freeway at Avery Parkway. According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray sedan had crashed for unknown reasons.
 
Officers responded and confirmed at least one fatality as a result of the accident. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
It is unclear if there are other parties involved in the crash.
 
The CHP is still investigating the exact cause of the crash and factors involved.
