Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Vehicle on Stoneman Avenue in Pittsburg

 
PITTSBURG, CA (March 9, 2023) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident at Stoneman Avenue and Briarcliff Drive in Pittsburg on Tuesday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened just before 9:00 p.m. on March 7, near Black Diamond High School. According to the Pittsburg Police Department, an unknown vehicle struck the pedestrian near the intersection.
 
The impact caused the pedestrian fatal injuries and they were pronounced dead at the scene. The victim’s identity was not immediately available.
 
It is unclear at this time if the involved driver stayed after the crash.
 
Officers closed the roadways near the crash scene for an extensive amount of time as they conducted their investigation.
