Pedestrian Killed in Accident on North Jackson Avenue at Mather Drive in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (January 30, 2022) – Police confirmed that one person died in a pedestrian accident on North Jackson Avenue on January 22.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the accident happened at Mather Drive around 7:40 PM.
 
Based on a report, the pedestrian was walking down North Jackson at the time of the crash. Due to unknown reasons, a Toyota SUV came and struck the victim. Police said the man was between crosswalks and the SUV had the green light.
 
As a result, the victim suffered severe injuries in the incident. Transported rushed him to a nearby hospital, where he died.
 
The San Jose Police Department said the driver called 911 after leaving the scene before returning and cooperating with officers.
 
No other details were immediately available. At this point, an investigation is ongoing.
