Pedestrian Fatally Struck by Vehicle on Monterey Road in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (July 30, 2021) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident at Monterey Road and San Jose Avenue Thursday evening.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:05 p.m. on July 29. According to the San Jose Police Department, the pedestrian was crossing Monterey Road outside of a marked crosswalk when a vehicle struck them.
 
First responders rendered aid to the pedestrian, but the victim died at the scene. They were not yet identified pending next of kin notification.
 
The involved driver remained on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Police said alcohol and drugs are not suspected as factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
