Early Morning Pedestrian Accident on 5 Freeway in Boyle Heights Turns Deadly

 
BOYLE HEIGHTS, CA (April 20, 2022) – One person was killed in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway in Boyle Heights, early Tuesday morning.
 
The accident happened around 2:46 a.m. on April 19 at South Lorena Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the pedestrian was either standing or walking in the area when a vehicle struck them.
 
When officers arrived, they found the victim lying in the roadway with fatal injuries. They pronounced them dead at the scene.
 
The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
The involved driver remained on scene and cooperated with officers.
