Speeding Pickup Truck Hits Several Motorcyclists on 15 Freeway in Cajon Pass, Killing One

 
CAJON PASS, CA (August 30, 2022) – One person was killed in a multiple motorcycle hit-and-run crash on 15 Freeway in the Cajon Pass on Saturday evening, August 27.
 
The fatal crash happened around 9:43 p.m. just before the Oak Hill Road exit. According to the CHP, the crash involved several motorcycles traveling together in a pack and a silver Toyota Tundra pickup truck. The Toyota was speeding prior to the crash.
 
The driver of the pickup truck hit at least four Mongols Motorcycle Club motorcyclists. One of the riders went underneath the truck sideways in the fast lane.
 
San Bernardino Fire Department crews responded and located the pickup truck with front-end side damage.
 
Paramedics took one rider to a nearby hospital with a broken wrist, road rash, bumps, and bruises. The other two riders were also hospitalized with road rash, bumps, and bruises.
 
One of the riders did not survive and died while undergoing treatment.
 
The driver and passenger of the pickup truck fled the scene, but were arrested nearby.
 
An investigation into this fatal crash is underway.
