Evening Multi-Vehicle Crash on 101 Freeway in Calabasas Kills 1

 
CALABASAS, CA (January 18, 2023) – One person was killed in a multi-vehicle accident on 101 Freeway in Calabasas Monday evening on January 16.
 
The fatal accident happened around 9:12 p.m. near Las Virgenes Road. According to the CHP, several vehicles collided on the freeway for unknown reasons.
 
Los Angeles County Fire Department crews responded and confirmed one fatality as a result of the crash. The identity of the victim was not immediately available.
 
Two other people had to be rescued from their vehicle.
 
While it is unclear exactly what led to the crash and how many cars were involved, two vehicles overturned and landed on opposite sides of the freeway.
 
CHP officials are still investigating the cause of the crash.
