Fiery Two-Vehicle Accident on South Carpenter Road in Stanislaus County Turns Deadly

 
STANISLAUS COUNTY, CA (September 28, 2021) – One person was killed in a fiery two-vehicle accident at South Carpenter Road and West Main Street.
 
The accident happened around 4:50 a.m. on September 23, near Modesto. CHP officials said two dark-colored vehicles had collided for unknown reasons. The impact caused one of them to catch fire.
 
Responding firefighters found one person still inside the burning vehicle. They extricated that person and pronounced the victim dead at the scene.
 
The Stanislaus County Coroner’s Office will release the identity of the victim once family members are notified.
 
At this time, circumstances surrounding the fatal accident remain under investigation.
