Bicyclist Dies after Struck by Vehicle on East Blanco Road in South Salinas

 
SALINAS, CA (November 21, 2023) – One person was killed in a bicycle accident on East Blanco Road in South Salinas Monday evening on November 20.
 
The fatal accident happened around 8:10 p.m. near La Mesa Drive. According to the California Highway Patrol, a gray Jeep struck the bicyclist in unclear circumstances.
 
Salinas fire paramedics responded and attempted saving the bicyclist. However, the victim did not survive and died at the scene.
 
The name, age and city of residence of the victim were not immediately available.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
