Motorcyclist Suffers Major Injuries after Rear-Ended by DUI Driver on Avenue 9 in Madera County

 
MADERA COUNTY, CA (March 18, 2024) – A motorcyclist was seriously injured in a DUI crash on Avenue 9 in Madera County early Sunday morning on March 17.
 
The crash happened around 2:00 a.m. near Road 35, just south of Madera Ranchos. According to the California Highway Patrol, a 39-year-old man was riding his motorcycle when he began to slow down to make a turn.
 
A 24-year-old man driving a Tesla failed to slow down and rear-ended the motorcycle. The Tesla then went off the road and crashing into a fence before rolling over.
 
As a result of the crash, the motorcyclist suffered major injuries and was rushed to a nearby hospital.
 
The man driving the Tesla on had minor injuries. He was arrested on suspicion of driving under the influence.
