Motorcyclist Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Car on Chatsworth Street in Mission Hills

 
MISSION HILLS, CA (October 25, 2023) – A motorcyclist was killed in a hit-and-run crash at Chatsworth Street and Chatsworth Drive in Mission Hills early Sunday morning.
 
The fatal crash happened around 12:45 a.m. near the 118 Freeway. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, a Motordark-colored sedan was traveling southwest on Chatsworth Drive when it ran a red light while turning east onto Chatsworth Street. It then collided with a westbound motorcycle.
 
After the crash, the driver of the sedan fled the scene without rendering aid.
 
Responding paramedics took the motorcycle rider, a 40- to 45-year-old man, to a hospital, where he succumbed to his injuries.
 
The victim’s name was withheld pending notification of family members.
 
The LAPD urged witnesses or anyone who has additional information about the crash to call Valley Traffic Division Detective Ortega at 818- 644-8035 or Officer Freeman at 818-644-8115.

A reward of up to $50,000 is available to people who provide information leading to the identification, arrest and conviction of a hit-and-run driver.
