Police Arrest Man for DUI after Fatally Striking Motorcyclist on North Jackson Avenue in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (October 26, 2023) – A motorcyclist was killed in a DUI crash on North Jackson Avenue in San Jose early Sunday morning on October 22.
 
The fatal crash happened just after 1:00 a.m. at Alexian Drive near Regional Medical Center. According to the San Jose Police Department, a man was driving a 2003 Dodge pickup truck northbound on Jackson Avenue and trying to make a left turn into a nearby apartment complex. He then collided with another man riding a 2013 Kawasaki motorcycle southbound on Jackson Avenue.
 
As a result, the motorcyclist suffered life-threatening injuries. Paramedics rushed him to a hospital, where he later died. His identity has not yet been released pending next of kin notification.
 
The driver of the Dodge remained on scene. Police later arrested him and booked him into county jail on suspicion of driving under the influence of alcohol.
