LAKESIDE, CA (April 24, 2024) — A motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries after colliding with a truck on Winter Gardens Boulevard in Lakeside.
 
The incident occurred at approximately 8:05 p.m. on Tuesday near Lemon Crest Drive, as reported by the California Highway Patrol (CHP). According to the officers, the motorcyclist was traveling southbound on Winter Gardens Boulevard at high speed when he collided with the rear of a 2013 Ford F-150. Despite the truck driver’s efforts to prevent the crash, both vehicles caught fire upon impact.
 
The motorcyclist succumbed to his injuries at UCSD Medical Center. The occupants of the truck escaped unharmed. The identity of the deceased will be disclosed by the San Diego County Medical Examiner’s Office.
 
Alcohol and/or drugs were not factors for the truck driver. However, it remains unclear if they contributed to the motorcyclist’s actions, the investigators said.
