Fatal Accident on 5 Freeway near Highway 12 Involves Motorcycle and Big Rig

 
SAN JOAQUIN COUNTY, CA (April 28, 2021) – A motorcyclist was killed in a traffic accident on 5 Freeway in San Joaquin County Tuesday afternoon, April 27.
 
The accident happened around 3:45 p.m. in the northbound lanes of the freeway, just south of Highway 12. According to the California Highway Patrol, a motorcycle was traveling northbound when it lost control and collided into a big rig that was also going northbound.
 
As a result, the motorcyclist suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. Authorities did not release the victim’s identity pending family notification.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a role in the crash. An investigation is ongoing.
