1 Hospitalized After Multi-Vehicle Crash on Highway 101 in Redwood City
REDWOOD CITY, CA (April 13, 2021) — A multi-vehicle crash on Highway 101 Friday morning injured one person in the area of Redwood City.
Reports from the California Highway Patrol indicated that the incident also led to a vehicle fire.
According to officials, a motorcycle and three other vehicles collided in the southbound lanes of Highway 101 near Brittan Avenue. The accident left the man riding the motorcycle stuck underneath one of the vehicles.
First responders lifted the vehicle and successfully pulled out the motorcyclist. They subsequently transported him to a hospital, conscious and breathing.
Meanwhile, CHP issued a SigAlert in the area, shutting down the three left lanes of Highway 101. The roadway reopened at about 11:00 a.m.
At this time, the cause and other factors surrounding the crash are unknown. However, further investigation is being conducted.
