Motorcycle Officer Hospitalized after High-Speed Chase on Highway 198 in Visalia

 
VISALIA, CA (November 28, 2022) – A motorcycle officer was struck and injured by a fleeing robbery suspect on Highway 198, Wednesday afternoon.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the incident happened on November 23, at about 1:00 p.m. The suspect reportedly robbed a bag of money from a Chase Bank employee in the area of Mooney Boulevard and Whitendale Avenue.
 
The motorcycle officer spotted the reported suspect and a pursuit began on westbound Highway 198.
 
A short time later, the suspect vehicle stopped on the highway. When the officer got off the motorcycle to approach the suspect, the vehicle sped off.
 
The pursuit resumed and the suspect reportedly made an evasive move, struck the motorcycle officer, and continued driving.
 
The impact of the collision ejected the officer from the motorcycle. Emergency crews transported the officer to Kaweah Health Medical Center for treatment of non-life-threatening injuries.
