Mother and Infant Suffers Injuries, Ejected from Vehicle in Torrance Crash on West 220th Street

 
TORRANCE, CA (July 30, 2021) – A mother and her baby sustained injuries in a two-vehicle accident at West 220th Street and South Western Avenue in Torrance Saturday afternoon.
 
The accident happened just before 5:00 p.m. on July 24. According to the Torrance Police Department, the woman made a U-turn in front of another vehicle, causing a collision.
 
During the crash, both the mother and the baby were ejected from the vehicle. Responding paramedics transported them to Harbor-UCLA Medical Center with serious injuries.
 
The driver of the other vehicle was also transported with unspecified injuries.
 
Video from the scene showed one vehicle with significant front-end damage, and another car with its side mangled.
 
At this time, it is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol was a factor. The crash is still under investigation.
