44-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Car in Crows Landing
CROWS LANDING, CA (April 9, 2024) – Miguel Angel Carmona-Zamora was hit and killed by a vehicle in Crows Landing early Sunday morning on April 7.
The fatal crash happened just after 4:30 a.m. on Highway 33 near Ike Crow Road. According to the California Highway Patrol, 23-year-old Alondra Contreras of Newman was driving a 2020 Honda Civic northbound on the highway when the victim walked into the northbound lane, directly in front of the Civic.
Contreras was unable to take evasive action and struck Carmona-Zamora.
Responding emergency units found Carmona-Zamora lying in the northbound lane. They pronounce him dead at the scene.
Carmona-Zamora was 44 years old Crows Landing. The CHP said he was under the influence of alcohol at the time of the crash.
Meanwhile, Contreras was unharmed.
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
