Michael Berber Detained for Striking, Injuring Officer on Calle Conejo at Avenue 48

 
INDIO, CA (April 19, 2022)Michael Anthony Berber faces charges after hitting and injuring an officer on Calle Conejo at Avenue 48.
 
According to Indio police, the incident happened around 10:46 p.m. on Saturday. For unknown reasons, a driver began disobeying traffic control directions. In response, an unidentified officer tried to arrest the driver, Berber, on Calle Conejo. However, Berber struck the officer with a vehicle, causing him non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Soon after, Berber left and drove westbound on Avenue 48. However, California Highway Patrol officers were able to stop him and arrest him.
 
At this time, the 32-year-old remains booked into the John Benoit Detention Center for assault with a deadly weapon. Although, if anyone has more information on this crash, please call the CHP.
