Montclair Police Pursuit Sends 6 People to Hospital, Suspect Arrested
MONTCLAIR, CA (September 11, 2023) – Micah Mageno was arrested after a pursuit crash in Montclair Sunday evening on September 3.
Around 8:26 p.m., Montclair Police Department officers attempted to stop a vehicle, driven by Mageno, for reckless driving. The suspect did not yield to the officers, and a pursuit occurred.
The pursuit proceeded less than a quarter of a mile before Mageno collided with two vehicles at Monte Vista Avenue and Kingsley Street.
Several victims were ejected from their vehicle as result of the crash. Paramedics transported two adults and four juveniles to hospitals with unspecified injuries.
Police later arrested Mageno, an 18-year-old man from Rancho Cucamonga, near the crash site. They booked him into the West Valley Detention Center at $250,000 bail on suspicion of evading a police officer and causing serious bodily injury, and on suspicion of child endangerment.
Police said Magena had a 10-year-old passenger in his vehicle who was unharmed.
Further investigation is underway.
