43-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver in Bakersfield

 
BAKERSFIELD, CA (November 28, 2023) – Martin Williams died in a hit-and-run crash in Bakersfield early Thursday morning on November 23.
 
The fatal hit-and-run crash happened around 2:52 a.m. in the 800 block of Union Avenue. According to the Bakersfield Police Department and the Kern County Sheriff’s Office, Williams was walking outside of a crosswalk when a black Camaro struck him.
 
As a result, Williams suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was a 43-year-old Bakersfield resident.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the Camaro fled the scene on foot.
 
At this time, the hit-and-run suspect remains at large. Police urged anyone with information about the case to call the agency at 661-327-7111.
