86-Year-Old Woman Dies after Struck by Vehicle in Goleta

 
GOLETA, CA (December 15, 2023) – Marjorie Vasquez was killed in a pedestrian accident in Goleta Tuesday night on December 12.
 
The fatal accident happened around 6:30 p.m. in the 7300 block of Hollister Avenue near Lowell Way. According to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Office, a vehicle struck Vasquez in median of the roadway.
 
The impact caused Vasquez fatal injuries and she died at the scene. She was 86 years old of Goleta, according to the Santa Barbara County Sheriff’s Coroner.
 
Meanwhile, the driver of the vehicle stayed on scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
Police said they do not believe drugs or alcohol played a factor in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
