Camp Pendleton Three-Vehicle Accident on Las Pulgas Road Kills Marine, Injures 2
CAMP PENDLETON, CA (March 16, 2021) – A U.S. Marine was killed in a three-vehicle accident on Las Pulgas Road in Camp Pendleton Sunday afternoon.
The accident happened around 5:00 p.m., March 7 on Marine Corps Base Camp Pendleton. According to the California Highway Patrol, the Marines were in their personal vehicles and off-duty at the time of the crash.
Lance Cpl. Tomiwa Adewale of Texas died early Sunday evening at the scene of the accident, according to base officials.
Two others sustained unspecified injuries. One was airlifted to Scripps Memorial Hospital in La Jolla, while a third service member was treated at Naval Hospital Camp Pendleton.
Adewale served as a field-artillery cannoneer with 1st Battalion, 11th Marine Regiment, 1st Marine Division.
