72-Year-Old Woman Dies after Struck by Vehicle in Reedley

 
REEDLEY, CA (April 10, 2024) – Maria Cruz was fatally struck by a vehicle in Reedley Tuesday evening on April 9.
 
The fatal accident happened around 7:52 p.m. near East Springfield and Justine Avenue. According to the Reedley Police Department, Cruz was crossing the street, pushing a walker when a vehicle struck her.
 
Paramedics arrived and rushed her to a local hospital, where she later succumbed to her injuries.
 
Cruz was 72 years old of Reedley, according to the Fresno County Coroner’s Office.
 
Officers said she was not within a designated crosswalk at the time of the crash.
 
The driver of the vehicle, a 69-year-old woman, stayed on scene and cooperated with police.
 
An investigation into this fatality is ongoing.
