Street Sweeper Suffers Major Injuries after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on East Seventh Street in Downtown LA

 
DOWNTOWN LOS ANGELES, CA (June 26, 2023) – A man was severely injured in a hit-and-run crash near East Seventh Street and Alameda Street in downtown Los Angeles on Tuesday afternoon.
 
The crash happened around 1:00 p.m. on June 20. According to the Los Angeles Police Department, the driver of a white 2018-2023 Chevrolet Silverado, possibly a Z71 model, was exiting a business when he ran over the foot of a street sweeper.
 
After striking the victim, the driver briefly stopped and then drove eastbound on Seventh Street.
 
Responding paramedics rushed the victim to a hospital with severe but non-life-threatening injuries.
 
Police said the vehicle is equipped with black rims, a bed liner, a sunroof, tinted windows and drives with a tow hitch.
 
The city of Los Angeles is offering a reward of up to $25,000 for information leading to the offender’s identification, arrest, and conviction.
