Driver Runs Red Light, Causes Two-Vehicle Accident on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard

 
OCEAN BEACH, CA (December 28, 2023) – A man sustained serious injuries in a two-vehicle accident on Sunset Cliffs Boulevard, early Thursday morning.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the incident happened on December 21, at about 12:28 a.m. For reasons still under investigation, an eastbound gray Lexus failed to stop for the red traffic light at the intersection of Nimitz Boulevard.
 
Then, the Lexus was broadsided by a southbound blue Volvo in the intersection.
 
Emergency crews transported the driver of the Lexus to a local hospital for treatment of serious but non-life-threatening injuries. Authorities did not release the names of the drivers.
 
San Diego police continue to investigate the cause of the accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
