Pedestrian Suffers Major Injuries after Hit by Sedan on Highway 163 in Hillcrest

 
HILLCREST, CA (October 12, 2022) – A man was seriously injured in a pedestrian accident on Highway 163 in Hillcrest on Friday afternoon, October 7.
 
The accident happened just after 2:00 p.m. near the University Avenue on-ramp. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking in the southbound lanes of the freeway when a silver Toyota sedan hit him.
 
The impact caused the victim major but non-life-threatening injuries. First responders rushed him to a hospital for proper treatment.
 
A 65-year-old driver of the Toyota remained on after the crash. He was not injured.
 
Neither alcohol nor drugs were considered factors in the crash. Further investigation is underway.
