Hit-and-Run Driver Strikes Pedestrian on El Cajon Boulevard in University Heights Leaving Victim with Serious Injuries

 
UNIVERSITY HEIGHTS, CA (June 12, 2023) – A 65-year-old man was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash on El Cajon Boulevard in University Heights neighborhood Saturday evening on June 10.
 
According to the San Diego Police Department, the crash happened in the 1800 block of El Cajon Boulevard near Park Boulevard around 8:40 p.m.
The man was standing near the bus lane just east of the crosswalk when a dark gray Honda Civic struck him.
 
After striking the victim, the driver of the Civic fled the scene.
 
First responders found the man unconscious with injuries to his head and shoulder. He sustained a laceration to the back of the head, right shoulder fracture, scattered brain bleeds and minor abrasions.
 
The department’s traffic division officers are still searching for the hit-and-run suspect. They urged anyone with information to call them or Crime Stoppers at 888-580-8477.
