21-Year-Old Driver Dies after Crashing into Box Truck on Main Street in Santa Maria

 
SANTA MARIA, CA (January 26, 2023) – A 21-year-old man died in a traffic accident at Main Street and Kathleen Court in Santa Maria on Monday night.
 
The accident happened around 6:44 p.m. on January 23. According to the Santa Maria Police Department, the man was driving a 2009 Cadillac CTS four-door sedan westbound on Main Street when he crashed into a large white box truck that was pulling out onto Main Street.
 
As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. He was the sole occupant of the Cadillac. His identity was withheld pending notification of his family members.
 
It is unknown if speed, drugs or alcohol played a factor. Authorities are still investigating the circumstances surrounding the accident.
