Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Hit-and-Run Driver on Monterey Highway in San Jose

 
SAN JOSE, CA (May 9, 2023) – A man was killed in a pedestrian hit-and-run crash on Monterey Road in San Jose late Friday evening on May 5.
 
According to the San Jose Police Department, the man was walking in the 1900 block of Monterey Highway near The Plant shopping center when a car struck him around 11:08 p.m.. The driver of that car did not stop after the crash.
 
A second vehicle may also have struck the pedestrian after he fell.
 
First responders pronounced the man dead on the scene.
 
The Santa Clara County Coroner’s Office withheld the victim’s identity at this time.
