Pedestrian Dies in Early Morning Crash on Santa Ana Freeway in East LA

 
EAST LOS ANGELES, CA (June 8, 2023) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Santa Ana (5) Freeway in the East Los Angeles area early Wednesday morning on June 7.
 
The fatal accident happened around 2:30 a.m. near Indiana Street. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was walking along the northbound freeway when a vehicle struck him.
 
The victim, whose identity was not immediately available, suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene.
 
It is unclear if the involved driver stayed after the crash.
 
Crews closed the northbound freeway for about two hours while an investigation was conducted.
