Man Dies in Long Beach Pedestrian Accident on Pacific Coast Highway

 
LONG BEACH, CA (March 31, 2022) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on Pacific Coast Highway at Rose Avenue on Tuesday.
 
According to Long Beach Police, the fatal pedestrian crash happened around 8:05 a.m. For unknown reasons, a driver in a 2019 Jeep struck a pedestrian crossing Pacific Coast Highway outside of a marked crosswalk.
 
Soon after, paramedics learned of the crash and responded to the scene, quickly ushering the victim to a hospital. However, despite receiving life-saving actions, the man succumbed to his injuries. Authorities have withheld his name pending notification of his family members.
 
As for the driver, he or she stayed at the scene and cooperated with police, who ruled out DUI driving, distracted driving and speeding as possible factors in the crash.
