29-Year-Old Man Dies after Struck by Car While Crossing Against Red Light on Mira Mesa Boulevard
MIRA MESA, CA (November 11, 2024) – A 29-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident at Mira Mesa Boulevard and Westmore Road early Saturday morning.
The fatal accident happened around 1:52 a.m. on November 9. According to the San Diego Police Department, a 31-year-old man was driving a 2023 Tesla westbound on Mira Mesa Boulevard when he struck the pedestrian, who was crossing the street against a red light.
The impact caused the pedestrian severe injuries.
Responding paramedics rushed him to a local hospital, where he was pronounced dead.
Authorities withheld the victim’s identity at this time.
Alcohol was not a factor in the crash, police said. Further investigation is underway.
