Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Several Vehicles along Highway 180 in Fresno

 
FRESNO, CA (March 28, 2022) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on Highway 180 in Fresno on Saturday evening.
 
The accident happened around 8:30 p.m. on March 26 near Cedar Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, the male pedestrian was trying to cross the busy lanes of the highway when a vehicle struck him. The driver did not stop to render aid.
 
While the man was lying on the highway, five additional vehicles also hit him. Those drivers stayed at the scene and cooperated with authorities.
 
The man, whose identity was not immediately available, died at the scene.
 
Authorities are looking for the first vehicle that collided with the man. They believe it to be a dark blue or black truck with front-end damage, per witnesses at the scene.
 
It is unknown if alcohol or drugs played a role in the crash, which remains under investigation.
