30-Year-Old Man Dies after Salinas Pedestrian Accident on East Alisal Street

 
SALINAS, CA (September 6, 2023) – A 30-year-old man was killed in a pedestrian accident on East Alisal Street, Monday evening.
 
According to the Salinas Police Department, the incident happened on September 4, at about 8:28 p.m. A westbound vehicle reportedly attempted to change lanes when it hit the pedestrian near the Foods Co parking lot.
 
Emergency crews pronounced the man dead at the scene. Authorities withheld the identity of the victim, pending notification of next of kin.
 
Meanwhile, the 23-year-old driver remained and cooperated with investigators. No arrests have been made at this time, and investigators ruled out DUI.
 
Salinas police continue to investigate the cause of the fatal accident. Officers will release additional information once it becomes available.
