Deadly Pedestrian Accident on 80 Freeway in Yolo County

 
YOLO COUNTY, CA (July 14, 2021) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on 80 Freeway in Yolo County Monday, July 12.
 
The accident happened around midnight near the Yolo Causeway. According to the California Highway Patrol, a vehicle was traveling westbound on 80 Freeway when it rear-ended another vehicle. Both vehicles pulled over after the crash. One motorist then stepped out of his vehicle for unknown reasons.
 
While standing on the roadway, a passing semi truck failed to notice the man and struck him. As a result, the man suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. His identity was not yet released.
 
At this time, investigators continue to work to determine the circumstances leading up to the crash.
