Man Dies in Pedestrian Crash on 5 Freeway

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (December 14, 2021) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on the 5 Freeway near Sampson Street, late Sunday.
 
According to the California Highway Patrol, the fatal pedestrian crash occurred around 5:15 p.m. For unknown reasons, a man was walking on the right shoulder against southbound traffic. Subsequently, an oncoming vehicle struck the male victim as he stood in the right lane.
 
Shortly after, paramedics responded and tried to resuscitate him. However, the unidentified victim died at the scene.
