Pedestrian Dies in San Diego Crash on 5 Freeway

 
SAN DIEGO, CA (October 20, 2023) — A man died in a pedestrian accident on the 5 Freeway near Old Town Avenue.
 
According to authorities, the fatal pedestrian accident happened around 8:30 p.m. Saturday. For an unknown reason, a man tried to cross the freeway, north of Old Town Avenue. Subsequently, a northbound Lexus SUV struck him.
 
Moments later, paramedics and police officers arrived at the scene, but the victim passed away from his injuries.
 
The crash left no one else injured.
