Pedestrian Dies after Struck by Car on 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita

 
SANTA CLARITA, CA (May 4, 2023) – A man was killed in a pedestrian accident on 5 Freeway in Santa Clarita early Wednesday morning on May 3.
 
The fatal accident happened around 4:52 a.m. at the intersection with Lyons Avenue. According to the California Highway Patrol, a white Ford struck the male pedestrian in unclear circumstances.
 
The victim suffered fatal injuries and died at the scene. His identity was not immediately available.
 
CHP officials closed all northbound lanes of the freeway while they investigated the accident. Two lanes were reopened after about 90 minutes, and crews continued working to clear the scene.
